We are currently seeking a Facility Supervisor within the Facility Management & Operations division, reporting to the Operations Manager. The Facility Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Facility Management services contract at CFB North Bay

The successful candidate will oversee staff, employee performance, facility operations and effectively monitor facility adherence to health, safety and environmental regulations. We offer competitive benefits and pension plan along with training planning. Training will be provided.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage maintenance and repair activities and the areas of safety, productivity, and efficiency in accordance to contract specifications; ensures maintenance and repairs are completed,
  • Performs preventive maintenance tasks themselves.
  • Direct liaison to the client.
  • Inspects equipment and systems, performs routine tasks, plan and manage budgets, responds to issues quickly
  • Prepare estimates and proposals for out-of-scope projects and repairs
  • Track, analyze and trend project costs to ensure accurate client invoicing
  • Schedule, supervise, and monitor personnel and subcontractors as needed to accomplish tasks
  • Responsible for ordering equipment, materials, and supplies for the execution of work
  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with vendors and other third parties to understand challenges and opportunities, ensure timely exchange of information to ensure client satisfaction
  • Follow comprehensive maintenance program and adhere to policies and procedures necessary to support the Facility
  • Interface with internal and external customers regarding status and priority of work
  • Review and approve all expenditures for materials, equipment, tools, supplies and subcontractors
  • Overseeing the building operators, technicians, subcontractors
  • Negotiate contracts, manage performance against budget, and manage relationships with building/property management, supply and service providers
  • Ensure all health and safety, regulatory and environmental practices are strictly adhered to
  • Responsible for solving problems and/or conflicts and to maintain open communication with the customer
  • Actively participate in Corporate and site Improvement Programs, develop and implement safety procedures, conduct safety meetings, write reports and maintain related records

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary education

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-7 years of experience in managing HVAC maintenance and repairs

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Level 2 Secret clearance or ability to attain one
  • Effective leadership skills with a strong focus on facility and business processes
  • Competency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with contract management
  • Must have a strong knowledge of building electrical, mechanical, HVAC and building structural systems
  • Solid experience leading a maintenance team
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to shift priorities on an ad hoc basis and flexibility with working hours
  • Ability to be assertive while maintaining diplomacy and political awareness
  • Ability to motivate, lead and facilitate a cross-functional work team to achieve objectives

The expected salary range for this role is between $95K to $115K per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate's qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald's total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as group insurance benefits, pension plan, annual discretionary bonus, career development programs, and other HR programs.
