We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse in San Diego, California. This position is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our facility. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to transport, load, and unload materials, raw components, and finished products. You will also be involved in inventory management, assisting with stock placement, and ensuring the organization of warehouse space. Adherence to strict **Safety** regulations and proper equipment maintenance are paramount in this role. Your ability to navigate busy warehouse environments and manage **Lifting** operations safely will be key to your success. This is a critical role within our **Logistics** team, ensuring the seamless flow of materials.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move, stack, and unstack pallets and materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in safe working order.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and locations.
- Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Adhere to all **Safety** procedures and protocols, including wearing required **PPE**.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and secure warehouse environment, supporting overall **Logistics** operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA certification).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Solid understanding of warehouse **Logistics** and inventory management principles.
- Knowledge of **Safety** regulations related to forklift operation.
- Ability to perform **Lifting** and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Must wear appropriate **PPE**, including safety shoes and high-visibility vests.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to workplace **Safety**.
