In this vital role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement of materials within our warehouse, ensuring a smooth flow of goods for our logistics operations. Your duties will include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and organizing inventory. You will play a key role in managing stock levels, preparing materials for production or shipment, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our distribution center. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling of all materials.
- Organize and store materials within the warehouse according to established procedures.
- Pick and stage materials for production or shipment orders.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially regarding safety and the use of PPE .
- Perform physical tasks that may involve lifting and moving of heavy items.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed to ensure overall operational effectiveness in logistics .
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Valid forklift certification is a significant asset.
- Experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Knowledge of material handling principles and inventory management.
- Commitment to upholding rigorous safety standards.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including manual lifting and maneuvering of materials.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with logistics operations.
- Willingness to wear and use all required PPE .
