We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate veterinary team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive animal handling skills, veterinary critical care experience, and a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal physiology. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing high-quality pet care and supporting the health and well-being of dogs, cats and the occassional pocket pet. The Certified Veterinary Technician will play a vital role in assisting veterinarians with medical procedures, laboratory diagnostics, and patient management.
*Duties*
* Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging.
* Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
* Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and analyze results to aid in diagnosis.
* Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments.
* Perform animal catheterization and other specialized procedures with precision.
* Maintain detailed medical records and document patient care accurately.
* Provide pet care education to clients.
* Monitor animal vital signs and recognize signs of distress or illness requiring urgent attention.
* Assist with animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning kennels, and maintaining a clean hospital environment.
* Handle laboratory equipment and perform diagnostic tests related to veterinary medicine.
*Qualifications*
* Proven veterinary technician experience with strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques.
* Kennel experience along with familiarity in pet grooming, dog handling, and animal restraint techniques.
* Laboratory experience including sample collection and analysis .
* Knowledge of dental terminology relevant to veterinary dentistry is advantageous.
* Skilled in animal catheterization, X-ray procedures, and pet care practices.
* Ability to handle animals safely .
* Strong communication skills with the ability to educate clients about pet health care needs.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
