The Role: As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you'll be on the front lines of our sales organization, responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying potential clients. You will play a critical role in creating pipeline for our Account Executives by proactively sourcing new business opportunities, responding to inbound interest, and booking high-quality meetings. This is a foundational role with clear career progression into sales, marketing, or customer success. Responsibilities:
- Pipeline Generation & Prospecting
- Identify and research target accounts and decision-makers within financial institutions, research firms, and asset management companies
- Execute outbound strategies including cold calling, personalized email outreach, LinkedIn engagement, and social selling
- Follow up with marketing-generated leads from webinars, events, and digital campaigns
- Inbound Qualification: Respond promptly to inbound leads and inquiries
- Qualify prospects based on their business needs, timeline, budget, and authority (BANT framework)
- Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate Account Executive
- Secure and schedule discovery calls and demos for the sales team
- Maintain detailed records of activities, touchpoints, and conversations in the CRM (e.g., Salesforce or HubSpot)
- Collaborate with Account Executives and Marketing to refine messaging and optimize outreach strategies
- Meet and exceed weekly/monthly KPIs including calls, emails, meetings booked, and opportunities created
- Continuously learn about BlueMatrix's products, industry trends, and client challenges
- Participate in team trainings, sales meetings, and cross-functional projects to grow your skills
- 1–2 years of experience in a BDR, SDR, or sales-related role (B2B SaaS or FinTech experience is a plus)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with cold outreach and high-volume prospecting
- Organized, self-motivated, and eager to learn
- Experience using CRM and sales engagement tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo)
- Knowledge of financial services, capital markets, or research workflows is a bonus
