TCS Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a well-established UK business operating within the high-reliability electronics sector. Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint a Technical Sales Engineer to take ownership of the North UK territory. This is a field-based, customer-facing role combining technical support with commercial responsibility, focused on developing long-term customer relationships and supporting design-in activity across demanding applications. The role would suit someone with a strong technical understanding of electronic components who enjoys working closely with engineers, procurement teams and decision-makers, providing consultative, solutions-led support. Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop a defined territory across North England, North Wales and Scotland Build strong, long-term relationships with existing customers while identifying new business opportunities Provide technical support and guidance on component selection, applications and specifications Support customers through design, qualification and approval stages Attend customer meetings, site visits and design reviews to fully understand application requirements Identify and develop new projects and growth opportunities within existing accounts Work closely with internal sales, product management, engineering and quality teams Support supplier introductions, joint visits and technical presentations where required Maintain accurate records of activity, pipeline and forecasts within internal CRM systems Feed back market intelligence, customer trends and competitor activity to the wider business Candidate Profile
Proven experience in a technical sales, field sales engineer, applications engineer or similar role Strong technical understanding of electronic and/or electromechanical components Experience selling into technically demanding markets such as aerospace, defence, space, rail or industrial Confident in communicating with both engineering and commercial stakeholders Experience managing a regional territory with a high level of autonomy Commercial awareness with the ability to support pricing, negotiation and opportunity conversion Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the territory Familiarity with qualification standards, approvals or harsh-environment applications What’s on Offer
