JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

This position is responsible for calibrating a wide variety of gages in a clean, temperature and humidity-controlled lab.

Essential Functions

  1. Calibrate physical and mechanical gages in-house

  2. Adjust gages as needed to complete work

  3. Work with industry specific software to track and calibrate gages for customers

  4. Assist the preparation of calibration procedures in specific areas of expertise

  5. Communicate directly with Sales department about customer calibrations as needed

  6. Assist other professionals as needed

  7. Continually learns and adjusts to new technologies and procedures

  8. Attend Safety and Industry trainings as required

  9. Works as part of a team to accomplish daily tasks and company goals

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

  • Timely calibration of gages
  • Meet In-house five (5) day turn-around-times
  • Complies with company Quality Control standards

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional Lab environment and routinely uses calibration standards, hand tools, office equipment such as computers, phones, cell phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, printers and parts washer machine. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Some of the environments this position will work contain occasional loud noise levels.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 or more pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position full time 40+ hours per week Monday through Friday. Times may vary depending on workload and schedules as we work to offer flexible work schedules.

Travel
Occasional travel could be required for working at customer facilities.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate degree in applied science or Two-Year Technical Degree

  • 1+ years' experience in calibration or PMEL preferred

  • Proficiency working with MS Windows, Outlook, Word and Excel, IndySoft, Zultys - preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in highly regulated fields or industries
  • Experience in highly technical fields with specific attention to details
