Safety Coordinator

Cenveo is a leading North American manufacturer of envelopes. We are hiring immediately for an experienced Plant Safety Coordinator for the Kent, WA facility.

Job Summary

The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a production environment in a leadership role. This candidate will have excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills to effectively lead in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Maintains safety files, records and logs. Performs safety inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been addressed. Meets deadlines for corporate safety log requirements; etc. Conducts / maintains / schedule safety training.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

• Maintain / Update safety procedures in the workplace, including emergency response plans and fire drills.
• Ensure compliance with current and changing regulations.
• Provide recommendations for safety hazards.
• Monitor operational processes and employee activities with regards to safety.
• Review all inspection results with management; discuss strategies to address.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

• Regular exposure to manufacturing environment including but not limited to exposure to dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals and variations in temperature.
• The position requires the incumbent to grasp objects utilizing manual dexterity including hand/finger, hand/eye and foot coordination, the utilization of color vision and depth perception.
• This position requires the incumbent to experience periods of prolonged walking, standing or sitting, may lift up to 40lbs., carry, climb, bend, extend and reach.
• Must be able to work in hot or cold weather.
• Adhere to safety requirements including the use of hearing protection and safety shoes.
