Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and service HVAC systems including boilers, air conditioning units, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and related mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults accurately.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on HVAC/R equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend system lifespan.
• Repair and replace mechanical components such as pumps, valves, motors, welders, and piping associated with HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to execute precise repairs or installations.
• Conduct field service visits for troubleshooting complex issues in commercial or industrial settings; document all work performed thoroughly.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards related to property maintenance, plumbing, electrical systems, and ammonia refrigeration handling.
• Operate a driver vehicle responsibly for transportation between job sites while adhering to all traffic laws.

Skills

• Extensive experience with construction processes related to HVAC installation and property maintenance projects.
• Proven service technician experience with HVAC systems, boilers, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing, and appliance repair.
• Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by the ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
• Knowledge of HVAC design principles to optimize system performance during installation or repair.
• Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to perform welding and equipment repair tasks safely and effectively.
• Familiarity with field service operations including troubleshooting complex mechanical issues on-site.
• Experience with maintenance procedures for boilers and other heating systems; mechanic experience is highly valued.
