Dispatcher

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate transportation and logistics operations within our supply chain network. The ideal candidate will efficiently manage freight movement, utilize transportation management systems, and communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring timely deliveries, optimizing fleet utilization, and maintaining seamless shipping and receiving processes. The Dispatcher will leverage advanced analysis skills and industry-specific software to support transportation planning and fleet management activities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems, McLeod
• Utilize GIS and GPS tools for route planning, tracking, and optimizing delivery schedules.
• Manage dispatching activities for drivers and fleet vehicles, ensuring adherence to delivery timelines.
• Maintain accurate data entry related to shipments, schedules, and driver logs.
• Communicate effectively via multi-line phone systems, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
• Monitor fleet management systems to track vehicle locations and status in real-time.
• Analyze transportation data to identify efficiencies, potential delays, or issues requiring resolution.
• Support transportation planning efforts by providing analysis insights for route optimization and resource allocation.

Experience

• Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems such as McLeod / SAMSARA or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, freight operations, and supply chain logistics.
• Proficiency in data entry, typing skills, and managing multi-line phone systems.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette are essential for success in this role. Pay: $15.00 per hour
