Java Software Engineer

Job Title: Senior Java Developer

Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 Months (possible extension or conversion)

Pay Range: $90 – $100 an Hour

Role Summary

Seeking a core backend Java developer with strong experience in enterprise-scale systems. The role is primarily hands-on Java development, with additional responsibility to support and drive a Disaster Recovery (DR) test for a critical application.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Core Java in a complex enterprise environment.
• Work on distributed, message-driven, multithreaded systems.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) testing by helping set up environments, coordinating with production support teams, and validating readiness.
• Support production issues (L3 support) and ensure release quality.

Other Technical Skills

• Kafka or similar messaging platform.
• Oracle or other RDBMS.
• Caching technologies (Redis or GemFire).
• Strong experience working in Linux environments.
• CI/CD experience with Jenkins or TeamCity.
• Experience with cloud/container technologies (Docker, OpenShift, or Kubernetes).
• Exposure to DevOps, infrastructure management, or resiliency concepts.
• Experience with deployment tools (uDeploy, Harness, or similar).
