We are looking to hire an energetic, friendly, customer focused Optometric Technician who strives to provide the very best service possible. We are willing to train the right candidate. Bilingual a plus, but not required. This position is full-time, Monday thru Friday, 8:00-5:00.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care & Testing: Take medical histories, measure visual acuity, conduct glaucoma/blood pressure tests, perform visual fields, use auto-refraction, take Optomap pictures, administer eye drops (under doctor's direction).
- Examination Assistance: Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, assist the optometrist during exams as needed, and help with in-office procedures.
- Patient Education: Teach proper contact lens insertion/removal, provide general eye care instructions.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient scheduling and update records.
- Equipment & Inventory: Maintain, clean, and sterilize ophthalmic equipment; order and stock supplies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
- Good time management is needed to keep appointments running on schedule.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
- Knowledge of optometric terminology and instruments.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and HIPAA.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
