About this Role:

Under the direct supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, and working under the guidance of the Research Data Analyst II, the Research Data Analyst I (RDA I) performs basic research, data gathering, scheduled report maintenance, and statistical work related to the California Department of Health Care Services Short-Doyle/Medi-Cal programs and provides analysis related to data trends and flags for potential impacts. The RDA I compiles and performs more basic data research studies to provide management with technical knowledge and policy recommendations and prepares well-organized, accessible summaries of findings. The RDA I assists the RDA II and RDS I in the unit with validating and verifying individual and county-level administrative and sample data about program participants. The RDA I responds to questions from internal and external stakeholders about data source and quality, and validating data outputs. The RDA I also performs basic analytical and administrative assignments related to the implementation of updates and changes affecting the Short-Doyle Medi-Cal claiming system for the Local Government Financing Division (LGFD).
