Fleet Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CDL Fleet Manager to oversee our fleet operations and ensure the efficient management of our vehicles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the fleet, optimizing performance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to improving operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead a fleet of 30-40 driver and manage driver availability to maximize the productivity of their fleet.
• Assist in the recruitment and orientation of new drivers, ensuring they are properly trained and familiarized with company policies and procedures.
• Establishing new relationships with customers.
• Process new hires, termination, transfers as staff changes occur.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics and dispatch, to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
• Coordinate and schedule regular truck maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Maintaining strong relationships with drivers.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize fleet efficiency.
• Collaborate with other departments to align fleet operations with organizational goals.

Experience

• CDL License and 1 Year minimum of previous trucking experience.
• Fundamental knowledge of transportation and routing in the US.
• Ability to professionally communicate with customers, OTR drivers, and dispatchers.
• Ability to work individually and as a part of a team.
• Strong analytical skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with team members, vendors, and stakeholders.
• A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications in fleet management are a plus.
