Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Safety Manager to lead our organization's safety initiatives and foster a culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and training programs aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance with occupational health standards.
  • Lead incident investigations by performing root cause analysis to determine underlying issues and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims in accordance with workers' compensation law, ensuring proper documentation and timely resolution.
  • Provide first aid training and CPR certification sessions to employees, promoting emergency preparedness across the organization.
  • Maintain detailed safety documentation including report writing for incidents, inspections, audits, and compliance records.
  • Coordinate safety training & development initiatives for staff at all levels to foster a culture of continuous improvement in occupational health practices.
  • Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure readiness for various scenarios.
  • Stay current on EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) regulations and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and operational excellence.
  • Facilitate communication between departments regarding safety concerns and promote proactive safety behaviors throughout the organization.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, workers' compensation law, and occupational health principles.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on safety management.
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to document incidents, inspections, audits, and corrective actions clearly and accurately.
  • Skilled in root cause analysis techniques to identify underlying issues behind safety incidents or hazards.
  • Certified in first aid, CPR, or related emergency response procedures; additional certifications such as OSHA training or EHS qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Effective training & development skills to educate employees on safety protocols and best practices.
  • Ability to conduct thorough investigations while maintaining attention to detail under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with diverse teams at all levels of the organization.
