Days/Hours: M-F, 40 Hours/Week, Subject to Temporary Shutdowns and Summer Break
Summary: Manages all aspects of a single EPU school site to ensure that the program meets the educational and recreational objectives and is managed in accordance with policies and procedures including safe work practices. Supervises all staff and volunteers assigned to the site to provide well-coordinated student assistance. Meets all documentation and reporting requirements. Liaises with parents, collaborators, school administration, donors, and visitors to represent the site and the program positively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises all staff, students, and volunteers in the program at the site.
- Manages site staff under the direction supervision of the Ed Services Coordinator and the support of the Human Resources and the Executive Director.
- Manages the site budget including supplies and fundraising.
- Maintains comprehensive staff, student and volunteer records and product reports as required.
- Designs a site program schedule together with the EPU Administrative Team such that the students have access to snack time, homework help and a variety of recreational, educational and enrichment activities.
- Meets all requirements and deliverers using a benchmark matrix.
- Works with collaborative partners (if available) to implement programs.
- Works with other providers to develop on- and off-site enrichment opportunities.
- Communicates with school administrators, school staff, and parents on a regular basis regarding program activities.
- Works with the Ed Services Coordinator to coordinate site visits for volunteers, communicate leaders, school administrators, and funders.
- Nurtures and builds strong relationships with staff and volunteers to develop good communication for accountability and staff retention /long-term volunteerism.
- Implements the safety plan at the site and enforces established company policies and procedures.
- Implements other plans or management requirements related to the site administration.
- Attends scheduled Program Manager meetings and other meetings and training's as requested.
- Maintains highest degree of confidentiality in student, staff, and management matters.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
- Ability to get along and work effectively with others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises Instructional Aides assigned to the site including short- and long-term substitutes. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, recommending hiring, and orienting employees at the site; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees in partnership with the Human Resources and Operations Manager; developing staff toward excellence; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Measures of Performance: The Program Manager shall be considered to be performing in an acceptable manner when the following have been accomplished:

Previous classroom experience required; supervisory experience is preferred.Language Skills:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software and the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
