Under the leadership of Principal Dr. Jill Pasquini-Torchia, Mountain View is building a dynamic administrative team committed to innovation, community partnership, and high expectations for student success.Position Overview: The Assistant Principal serves as an instructional and cultural leader, responsible for promoting academic success, continuous improvement, and a safe, inclusive school environment. Working collaboratively with the Principal, the Assistant Principal ensures that powerful teaching and learning remain at the center of school life, aligned with Easthampton Public Schools mission and vision.

This position requires a leader who is reflective, equity-driven, and skilled in building relationships with students, families, and staff to create a culture of belonging, accountability, and continuous improvement.Standard I: Instructional LeadershipPromotes the learning and growth of all students and staff by making grade-level standards-aligned teaching and learning the central focus of the school.Collaborate with the Principal to establish a clear instructional vision grounded in high expectations with culturally and linguistically sustaining practices.Lead the development and implementation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment aligned to district and state standards.Provide actionable, timely feedback to educators to strengthen instructional practice and increase student engagement and discourse.Support the use of data and assessments to monitor progress, identify gaps, and inform adjustments to practice.Ensure inclusive instructional strategies are implemented across classrooms.Participate in supervision and evaluation processes that are equity-centered and evidence-based.Standard II: Management and OperationsEnsures a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment through sound management of systems, resources, and operations.Oversee daily school operations including scheduling, supervision, crisis response, and building management.Support student safety, wellness, and restorative practices that promote accountability and belonging.Partner with families, the community, and local agencies to ensure comprehensive approaches to safety and support.Contribute to the recruitment, hiring, induction, and development of a diverse, highly qualified staff.Manage organizational systems and resources to promote equity, efficiency, and a positive culture.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, collective bargaining agreements, and district policies.Assist in managing budgets and resources to align with equity-centered goals and priorities.Standard III: Family and Community EngagementBuilds partnerships with families and the community to support student learning and well-being.Establish and maintain culturally responsive, two-way communication with families and caregivers.Engage families as partners in students academic and social-emotional growth.Collaborate with community organizations to expand opportunities and resources for students and families.Promote inclusive family engagement practices that reflect diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.Address family concerns in a timely, transparent, and equitable manner that builds trust.Standard IV: Professional CultureNurtures a culture of reflection, collaboration, and high expectations for all members of the school community.Model reflective practice and continuous professional growth.Build consensus, manage conflict, and lead with empathy and transparency.Promote a shared vision and mission aligned with district priorities and the Portrait of a Graduate.Foster collaboration and professional learning communities that emphasize data-informed practice and equity.Uphold the districts values of integrity, professionalism, and collective responsibility.QualificationsRequired: Massachusetts DESE Principal/Assistant Principal License Education: Masters degree in education or related field required; CAGS or advanced degree preferred.Experience: Minimum of 35 years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience. Administrative experience preferred.
