Description du poste

Your responsibilities

Our client and its subsidiaries requires the services of one individual to join its engineering and project management team. The individual will support the execution of projects throughout Newfoundland and Labrador:

  • Provide technical support to the Project Manager on various projects;
  • Review tender packages prepared by other consultants and contractors;
  • Review shop drawings prepared by contractors and vendors;
  • Prepare tender packages for contracts;
  • Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs);
  • Provide technical input as a design team member for projects and other technical documentation;
  • Direct and supervise consultants and contractors during the completion of specific engagements;
  • Review and approve reports prepared by consultants;
  • Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as required;
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction activities, verify project progress, and provide support to site teams;
  • Facilitate effective communication across stakeholders;
  • Review and approve technical documentation, including commissioning;
  • Assist with project closeout activities, ensuring smooth transition of completed assets to operations;
  • Promote continual improvement through lessons learned, innovative approaches, and sharing best practices with other project teams;
  • Submit timesheets and documentation in accordance with NL Hydro's project management requirements;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Your profile

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree, registered with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) association;
  • Electrical Engineering Degree, registered with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) association;
  • 8 years or more experience since graduation;
  • Experience in the configuration and programming of PLCs and DCS;
  • Experience in network architecture design;
  • Experience in preparing and using logic and wiring diagrams;
  • Experience in supervising equipment installation and commissioning;
  • Relevant experience in complex, multi-discipline projects;
  • Experience in selecting, setting and troubleshooting protective relays;
  • A working knowledge of communication protocols;
  • Proven and demonstrated communication skills;
  • Ability to thrive as a participant and/or leader within a multi-discipline team of both internal and external resources;
  • Relevant experience in the design, implementation and troubleshooting of protection and or control systems in general with emphasis on hydro generation plants or electrical transmission systems or equivalent;
  • Experience in design, managing construction contracts and commissioning;
  • Experience in preparing project estimates;
  • Excellent computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • Ability to adapt to dynamic work environments and changing project demands.
