Back Up Driver/Operations Crew Member

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Back Up Driver/Operations Crew Member to support our transportation and logistics operations. This role involves operating various types of commercial vehicles, assisting with cargo movement, and ensuring smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in driving different vehicle types, possess mechanical knowledge, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of commercial vehicles including box trucks, flatbeds, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and shuttle buses.
• Assist with loading and unloading cargo using pallet jacks, forklifts, or manual methods.
• Support route driving and delivery tasks as needed, ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, vehicle logs, and operational reports.
• Support warehouse operations by moving equipment and materials efficiently within the facility.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding schedules, safety concerns, or operational issues.
• Assist in heavy equipment operation when required, including forklift operation or heavy haul support.
• Provide backup driving support for various routes or assignments as needed to ensure continuous operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial driving, shuttle driving, delivery driving, or related roles involving heavy equipment operation.
• Valid driver's license suitable for operating the required vehicle types; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory depending on vehicle type.
• Knowledge of manual transmissions and familiarity with different commercial vehicles such as box trucks, tractor-trailers, or tankers.
• Mechanical aptitude for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience with warehouse operations including load & unload procedures using pallet jacks or forklifts.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts or yard jockeys if required.
• Flexibility to support various roles within the operations team including route driving or heavy haul support.
• Prior experience in military logistics or school bus driving is a plus but not required. This position is vital for maintaining efficient transportation logistics and supporting our operational needs across multiple functions within the company.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
