Summary Description:

Provides materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing and distribution services, supervising staff. The Warehouse Manager will provide leadership and direction in a high-volume environment, supervise and coordinate activities of Supervisors and Leads concerning picking, packing, shipping and receiving.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains Shipping, Receiving, Warehousing, and Distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational and personnel policies, procedures and programs.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results.
  • Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Responsible for working with other departments to assist in resolving issues related to order fulfillment, inventory and accuracy, and invoicing.
  • Monitors and manages all aspects of team member performance, including administering progressive disciplinary write-ups/counseling
  • Manages workflow to meet planned department productivity standards.
  • Issue written and oral instructions
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of team members.

  • Proven experience in warehouse management procedures and best practices

  • Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or equivalent work history

Physical Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the physical abilities needed to perform the essential function of this position.

  • Walking and standing for 6-10 hours per day
  • Hearing and vision adequate for working in a warehouse environment.
  • Repetitive use of hands for writing and typing
  • Frequent bending twisting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping
  • Frequently lifting objects weighing lbs.

  • Ability to climb stairs

  • Ability to be certified in warehouse equipment usage (Lift truck, hand truck, forklift, etc.)
