What You'll Do
- Assemble industrial automated machinery and subassemblies according to engineering specifications.
- Interpret and adhere to detailed mechanical drawings and shop orders.
- Construct components, including:
- Frame assemblies
- Drive systems, motors, and shafts
- Drums, rolls, bearings
- Pneumatics and hydraulics
- Sensors, brackets, guarding
- Conduct operational testing, make mechanical adjustments, and perform final tolerance verifications to ensure proper functionality.
- Ensure the safe movement of parts and equipment using forklifts and cranes, contributing to a secure work environment.
- Help with the shipping and receiving of machinery.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Propose process improvements and help maintain a clean and efficient production floor.
- Keep documentation accurate and follow all safety procedures to foster a safe workplace.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 3–5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Assembler, Machine Builder, or Industrial Automation Technician.
- Solid ability to understand mechanical prints and interpret engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with hand tools and precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and pi-tapes.
- Practical experience in assembling automated industrial equipment.
- Experience with forklift and crane rigging (certifications are a plus).
- Capable of standing, walking, and lifting up to 100 lbs as necessary.
- Good communication skills and working knowledge of Outlook, Office, and ERP systems.
Preferred:
- Trade school, associate degree, or relevant technical certifications are advantageous.
- Previous experience in maintenance or field service is a plus.
- A willingness to work significant overtime is highly desirable.
