Join The Team:
ERCO Worldwide is looking for a Commercial Manager to join our North Vancouver team The Commercial Manager sets the direction and oversees all activities related to Commercial activities (from strategy development through to implementation, execution and evaluation) while driving alignment with the corporate strategic direction and established systems and directives. Delivering on a broad range of responsibilities, the Commercial Manager must balance an ability to draw on well-established general management capabilities with a willingness to get directly involved in the operations (applying business/accounting skills) as required. Supports the Plant Manager in communications with the local community, corporate finance, suppliers, carriers and customers.    
 
The Role:
Report accurately on plant financial performance. Provide informative cost reports and special financial analysis to others internal and external to the plant for decision-making purposes.
All Plant Accounting functions (including period budgeting; capital accounting; accounts payable, month end, weekly and monthly reports).
Make (or actively support) critical decisions that impact the local site (i.e., capital projects, team performance, production, maintenance planning, costing/budgeting etc.)
Review financial metrics on a regular basis in order ensure production, cost, raw material quality, spare parts and inventory and product quality expectations are being met.
Monitor relevant regulations to ensure compliance in areas such as ethical practices, human resources, employee safety, contractor safety, environment, GAPP, etc.
Development and implementation of key people initiatives (i.e., training, talent development, skills planning, organization design, hiring/on-boarding, succession management etc.)
The Person:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting is required.
6-10 years of Business Accounting and Commercial Management, Budgeting/Cost Management, Community Outreach, Vendor Management, Dealing with Auditors, Customer Contacts experience.
Proven track record of 5+ years' business commercial experience in a manufacturing environment, coupled with team leadership experience.
Strong analytical skills (i.e., financial data, auditing) to help in decision-making and judgments.
Related experience in vendor/contractor negotiations is an asset.
Experience in labor negotiations is required to work in specified sites.
Ability to maintain a continuous focus on critical factors pertaining to effective operations (i.e., ethical practices, safety, Responsible Care, etc.).
Financial abilities; including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
Successful background in recruiting and developing teams.
Occasional travel as the role requires.
Procurement, Stores and Inventory management are assets.
