Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and assembling ingredients with precision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work stations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Support kitchen staff during busy service times by efficiently managing multiple orders and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Assist with inventory management by rotating stock, checking expiration dates, and notifying supervisors of supply needs.
  • Collaborate with team members to uphold a positive kitchen environment focused on teamwork and continuous improvement.

Skills

  • Proven experience in food industry settings such as restaurants or catering environments, with a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking techniques.
  • Demonstrated knife skills with the ability to handle various kitchen tools safely and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices for handling ingredients and maintaining hygiene.
  • Experience with menu planning or assisting chefs in developing new dishes is a plus.
  • Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail during meal preparation.
  • Strong understanding of dietary department guidelines and dietary aide experience is advantageous for accommodating special requests or dietary restrictions.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and serving staff to ensure smooth service flow.
