Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, personable, and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care, thrives in a team environment, and maintains the highest standards of professionalism and cleanliness. This role supports our dentists in delivering exceptional clinical care while ensuring a smooth and positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up treatment rooms and instruments according to established protocols.
- Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, preventive, and surgical treatments.
- Take high-quality digital X-rays and intraoral photos.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and charting as directed by the dentist.
- Sterilize instruments, disinfect treatment areas, and follow OSHA and infection control protocols.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative instructions, and treatment steps.
- Manage dental materials, supplies, and inventory; report low stock levels.
- Support front desk staff as needed with scheduling, patient communication, and check-in/out.
- Provide a warm, welcoming experience for all patients to reflect the values of Fair Lakes Family Dentistry.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program preferred.
- Radiography certification
- Current CPR certification.
- 2-3 years of Dental Assisting experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Professional, courteous, and dedicated to delivering excellent patient care.
- Familiarity with open dental is a plus.
