As an Admin Assistantwithin the Living Bridgeat the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting the lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Location: The Living Bridge in Canton, GA.

Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision, performs a wide range of office administration duties for assigned functions or program areas, duties may be complex in nature and may involve access to confidential information. May research, investigate, and/or resolve program data or issues. Drafts documentation, reports, or presentations. Represents program or unit, provides information and assistance to internal and external customers.

Job Duties:

  • Manages the flow of patients in and out of the clinic, including scheduling for the patients' return visit.
  • Ensures all vital demographic information is updated on the patient.
  • Makes sure all needed patient assistance (i.e., taxi rides, etc.) is made.
  • Prepares charts for next clinic day in relation to returned labs.
  • Manages front desk traffic during clinic and after clinic hours including phone traffic, written correspondence, billing, and coding.
  • Provides administrative support and backup as requested to ensure projects within the clinic are completed on time and effectively.
  • Manages the ordering and receipt of all office supplies, medical supplies, and specialty paper products (i.e., letterhead, etc.).
  • Processes and logs all incoming mail and all outgoing record requests.
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma/GED AND three (3) years of job-related experience

OR

One (1) year of experience required at the lower-level Admin Assistant 1 (GST050) or position equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience in a medical office.
  • Experience working with Ryan White clinics/patients.
  • Experience with HIV/STI care, treatment, and/or prevention.

Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.

CBH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered.

All positions require criminal history record check. Required education credentials, license, certification and/or registration must be submitted prior to employment in the position.
