Overview
We are exclusively recruiting for a growing, service-led organisation operating across the East Midlands. Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager to take full ownership of a mobile, customer-facing business unit that plays a vital role in their daily operations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven individual who enjoys a hands-on, people-oriented role with the scope to lead from the front—balancing business development, client engagement, and operational leadership.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for developing regional sales, supporting a small field-based team, and identifying opportunities to expand reach and profitability. This role offers a mix of autonomy, strategic thinking, and practical on-the-ground involvement.
Key Responsibilities

Drive Growth – Lead and develop new business opportunities across an existing and expanding territory

Customer Engagement – Build lasting relationships with clients, gathering insight and ensuring a high-quality service

Team Leadership – Manage and motivate a regional team, supporting recruitment, training, and performance

Territory Optimisation – Review performance data to improve route efficiency and identify high-performing locations

Commercial Strategy – Monitor margins, analyse sales reports, and implement changes to improve profitability

Brand Standards – Ensure quality, consistency, and professionalism across all customer-facing touchpoints
What We’re Looking For
Essential:

Proven field sales or territory management experience

Strong commercial awareness and a growth-driven mindset

Comfortable managing people and working with operational KPIs

Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills

Confident working independently and managing a varied schedule
Desirable:

Experience in FMCG, service delivery, or logistics

Familiarity with route planning, stock control, or team scheduling

Comfortable using data to inform business decisions
