We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role is crucial to our warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient movement of goods from receipt to storage and dispatch. The Material Handler will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including loading and unloading trucks, organizing inventory, operating material handling equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position requires a strong commitment to safety protocols and an understanding of warehouse procedures. Successful candidates will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience with warehouse equipment is a plus, but comprehensive training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading materials and products from trucks and containers.
- Transporting materials within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Stocking and organizing inventory in designated areas.
- Accurately picking and packing orders for shipment.
- Conducting routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and reporting any issues.
- Adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety.
- Assisting with inventory counts and stocktaking as required.
- Collaborating with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
- Following all guidelines for safe Lifting and material handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to perform frequent Lifting, pushing, and pulling of heavy items.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
