We are hiring a dedicated Picker/Packer for our distribution center in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately picking items from shelves and preparing them for shipment. This involves reading order slips, locating the correct products, and carefully packing them to prevent damage during transit. Efficiency, accuracy, and a strong adherence to safety standards are paramount. You will play a key part in our logistics network, ensuring timely and correct fulfillment of customer orders. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse inventory based on order tickets.
- Verify picked items against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Package products securely for shipping, selecting appropriate packaging materials.
- Label packages correctly for shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock checks as needed.
- Operate pallet jacks and other manual equipment for moving items.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Follow guidelines for safe Lifting and handling of goods.
- Contribute to the overall smooth functioning of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a picker/packer or in a warehouse environment is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand order forms and item labels.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks, including frequent Lifting.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Must be able to wear and utilize required PPE throughout the shift.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
