Our Austin, Texas facility is looking for a diligent and organized Shipping Clerk to manage the outbound flow of our products. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all orders are processed correctly, packaged securely, and dispatched on time. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of shipping procedures and documentation. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and document all outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with carrier requirements.
- Verify shipping addresses and ensure correct labeling of packages.
- Schedule pickups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL).
- Track shipments and provide updates to customers or internal departments as needed.
- Operate shipping equipment such as scales, printers, and pallet wrappers.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Conduct quality checks on packed orders before dispatch.
- Assist with receiving tasks when necessary.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and filed accurately.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers and basic office software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Knowledge of shipping software is a plus.
- Commitment to following safety guidelines and wearing appropriate PPE.
