Key Accountabilities:


• Ability to exercise good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.


• Project management skills in order to handle diverse projects, often times simultaneously, and meet aggressive deadlines.


• Ability to solve technical problems/ processes and understand complex details.


• Work closely with end users, and business teams to understand business needs, conduct gap analysis and requirements assessments as needed


• Create impact analysis document, User stories, Design workflows for implementation


• Understand existing processes and business work flows, identify gaps and recommend solutions


• Improve the end user experience by finding scalable solutions and addressing complex ad hoc queries.


• Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies.


• Gathers requirements from business units, documents detailed and complex client taxation processes resulting in reporting and withholding obligations across business lines and products.


• Prepares cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation.


• Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities. Supports one or more highly complex business processes.


• Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.


• Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences

Must have skills

  1. 10+ years' experience as a Business Analyst

  2. Knowledge and understanding of Client Tax Reporting (CRA/IRS) is required

  3. 5+ years of recent experience with Capital markets and global banking.

  4. Experience with Financial products like Derivatives, Fixed income, etc. is required for this role

Nice to have skills:

  1. Recent experience with Banking/ Financial Institution is highly preferred.

  2. Exposure to various tax reporting such as NR4, 1099 and tax withholding obligations under CRA/ IRS are an advantage

Soft Skills Required:

  • A high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills necessary to relate to other people at their systems knowledge level.

  • Ability to analyze complex situations and problems and do the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions.

Education:


• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
