Job Description

We are hiring a Traffic Control Supervisor to oversee traffic control staff, manage job sites, communicate with contractors, and ensure all projects are executed safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, understands traffic control standards and Book 7, and can coordinate multiple crews while maintaining excellent client relationships.

ResponsibilitiesSupervision & Leadership

  • Supervise traffic control personnel and ensure all staff are following Book 7 and company safety standards.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and coaching of Traffic Control Persons (TCPs).
  • Assign crews, manage schedules, and ensure adequate staffing for each job site.

Operational Management

  • Set up, monitor, and close down traffic control systems, lane closures, and road closures.
  • Conduct hazard assessments and ensure all signage, cones, and equipment are positioned correctly.
  • Resolve on-site issues and communicate with contractors, foremen, and project managers.
  • Ensure all incidents or near-misses are documented and reported immediately.

Client & Contractor Communication

  • Act as the main point of contact on job sites.
  • Provide updates to clients and ensure expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and strong customer-service mindset.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all staff follow Book 7, OHSA, Metrolinx, and municipal safety standards.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, site orientations, and ongoing training.
  • Complete daily reports, logs, and paperwork accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-4years of experience in Traffic Control or Road Construction.
  • Valid Flagging/TCP Certification (Ontario Book 7).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (required).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather.
  • Ability to make quick decisions and manage fast-paced environments.
  • Experience supervising a team is an asset.
  • Experience on Metrolinx, municipal, or large infrastructure projects is an asset.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
