Panel Technician

T&T Power Group is a power generation, distribution and automation sales and service company. We expertise in building industrial control packages for solar, pumping, mining, and generator applications.

We are seeking a qualified individual to fill the opening of the 1st Year Electrical Apprentice position. Your responsibilities will serve our production and service efforts in our Prince George British Columbia office. The successful candidate will be expected to grasp the complexities of the job and demonstrate the ability to successfully handle many disparate responsibilities in a very short time.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Drilling and tapping control enclosure back-pans to prepare them for hardware installation.
• Fastening components like wireway/duct, DIN-rail, and other hardware to the back-panel, creating the internal structure for wiring and devices.
• Cutting holes in the enclosure walls and doors for mounting external components such as fans, pushbuttons, and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
• Baying and assembly of large modular control enclosures, which involves connecting multiple enclosure sections to form larger units.
• Assembling and wiring control and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) packages, which are complex systems requiring precise electrical connections.
• Adhering to specific quality standards throughout the assembly process to ensure the integrity and functionality of the enclosures.
• Following Health and Safety processes to maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintaining a safe and clean work area in the mechanical bay, contributing to overall workplace safety and efficiency.
• Off-loading and receiving vendor product shipments, ensuring that necessary materials are available for assembly.
• Building skids for enclosure shipping when required, providing a stable base for transport.
• Packaging and preparing control enclosures for shipping and transport, which includes securing the enclosures to prevent damage during transit.

Requirements:

Entry Level Position

· Preference will go to a 1st year electrical apprentice but we will accept applications from someone who is eager to get into the electrical trade

· Willingness to take responsibility of a task and work unsupervised

· Know how to keep a clean workspace

· Must be detail oriented

· Must be able to work with tight deadlines

· Ability to interpret electrical schematics

· Willing to lend a hand with a variety of different tasks

· Positive attitude

· Strong motor skills for working with hand tools

· Heavy lifting up to 50lbs

· Reliable transportation to and from our work location
