Tridon Communications is gearing up for an exciting, year-long telecommunications project in Fort McMurray, AB, starting January 2026, and we're assembling a strong team of Telecommunications Field & Installation Technicians to hit the ground running. If you're skilled, safety-focused, driven, and ready to tackle fast-paced, hands-on technical work, this position is for you.

- Flights Provided: Out of Edmonton or Calgary
- Shift: 14/14 (camp-based work)
- Duration: 1-year contract to start which may be extended

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
This project involves telecommunications, electrical and vehicular telecom installations within an industrial/oil sands environment. Responsibilities may include:
- Low-voltage and high-voltage tasks
- Perform LMR coaxial cable terminations and testing to ensure high-quality, reliable radio communication connection and performance.
- Mounting and installing radios and in-vehicle communication equipment
- Terminating and testing Ethernet cables
- Running and securing cabling inside fleet vehicles
- Hands-on work with a variety of power and hand tools
- Ensuring top-tier quality and safety on every install
- Following site procedures and working in a high-compliance environment
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
We're seeking applicants with experience in:
- Electrical Expertise: Journeyman Electricians or 2nd/3rd-year Electrical Apprentices with a strong technical foundation.
- Telecommunications and Low-Voltage Work: Experience with telecom installations, vehicular systems, or industrial field environments.
- Hands-on Troubleshooting and Quality Installation: Ability to ensure reliable, high-quality work while following strict safety and compliance standards.
- Team-oriented and Adaptable: Comfortable collaborating in dynamic, fast-paced project environments and willing to take on new challenges.
- Reliable and Professional: Dependable in meeting project requirements, maintaining high standards, and contributing positively to the team.
Other Requirements
- Must be comfortable with a 14/14 rotation & a camp-based setting
- Full, valid, and current driver's license
- Clean 5-year driver's abstract
- Clear Criminal Background Check
- Successful completion of a Pre-Access Drug & Alcohol test, with ongoing random testing as required by clients
