Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Financial Controller to lead our organization's financial operations with precision and strategic insight. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all accounting functions, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and provide accurate financial reporting that supports informed decision-making. Your expertise in financial management, regulatory frameworks, and accounting software will drive the organization's fiscal health and operational excellence. Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and analysis of comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring adherence to IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Oversee all aspects of accounting operations such as general ledger management, account reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable processing, payroll administration, and double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, cash management strategies, and liquidity planning to optimize organizational resources.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements, governmental regulations, and nonprofit accounting standards where applicable.
  • Coordinate regulatory reporting obligations accurately and timely for government agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes while maintaining rigorous balance sheet reconciliation practices.
  • Develop and implement effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure integrity in financial data.
  • Lead budgeting processes by preparing detailed financial forecasts aligned with organizational goals; monitor variances and provide actionable insights through financial analysis.
  • Utilize advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline operations and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Conduct detailed account analysis to identify discrepancies or anomalies; perform account reconciliation regularly to maintain data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial concepts, technical accounting issues such as debits & credits, and financial management strategies.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive financial reports for executive leadership, board members, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes by leveraging technology solutions like financial software tools for forecasting and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Extensive experience in corporate accounting with a strong background in governmental or nonprofit sectors highly desirable.
  • Proven expertise in technical accounting practices including balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, cash management, payroll processing, and general ledger accounting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail for account reconciliation and audit readiness.
  • Exceptional communication skills to articulate financial concepts clearly across diverse audiences.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
