The Holiday Inn Express - Metrotown is located adjacent to Metrotown and just a short walk from the skytrain station and bus loop. We are a limited service property featuring 100 guest rooms and suites, daily hot breakfast buffet, swimming pool and a number of conference and meeting rooms.

We are looking for a part time Maintenance Worker to join our busy and professional team. This position will be responsible for the following tasks:

· Complete minor repairs such as replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, patching vinyl, painting, repairs to pipe lines, toilets, sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment, etc.

· Perform preventative maintenance duties as detailed in the hotel preventative maintenance calendar

· Ensure that assigned equipment is prepared and operational for the following day's work

· Monitor efficiency of equipment and electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, guest entrance/access doors, television sets, lighting systems and make minor repairs and/or replacements to ensure things are working properly and efficiently at all times

· Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms, if needed

· Maintain front entrance area, parking area and/or garage, and street entrance in a clean and presentable manner

· Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the facility, grounds, pool and exercise/sport facilities (including property signs and lighting)

· Ensure the security of inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, televisions, etc.

· Replenish supplies and inventory in a timely and efficient manner, and minimize waste

· Follow hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times. Immediately report any safety/service incident to the Supervisor or Manager on duty

· Take action to solve guest problems/complaints and use established guidelines for any service recovery to ensure guest satisfaction

· Other duties as assigned in accordance with hotel and Holiday Inn requirements.

Must be physically fit, able to lift and carry loads exceeding 25 lbs. Must have a pleasant personality, professional appearance, ability to multi-task and attention to detail for this demanding position. Position requires frequent interaction with the public and other team members so excellent communication skills in English are mandatory. Fluency in additional languages is considered a positive. Must be available weekends. Position is available year round.

Pay: $22.06-$25.95 per hour
