Perma-Pipe in Camrose, AB is hiring a Quality Control (QC) Representative

We're looking for a Quality Control (QC) Representative to be a part of our growing Canadian (AB & ON) business. The Quality Control (QC) Representative is responsible for direct examination of product to ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications. Requiring a high level of attention to detail, the Quality Control Representative is responsible for strictly adhering to the organization's quality assurance policies, and identifying defects and or production errors in order to prevent these materials from entering the supply chain. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

The role is situated in Camrose, AB and is not a remote or hybrid position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect production material as assigned for defects as trained.
• Remove defective items from production, designating reason for removal.
• Report defects to the appropriate manager.
• Perform internal QA audits that are compliant with corporate policies, practices, and procedures.
• Assist with the maintenance of QA monitoring programs, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers.
• Comply with Company QA programs for monitoring supplier quality, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers.
• Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation.
• Adopt and incorporate quality methods into their work.
• Create and maintain QA control documentation
• Inspection of bare and coated pipe
• Inspection of the coating process
• Return from Fields reports
• Placing pipe on hold and releasing in the computer system when the pertinent paperwork has been received
• Organizing corrective and preventative action & non-conformance records
• Enter pipe cuts in computer
• Training of personnel in quality procedures
• Assisting in internal audits

Qualifications

• Quality Assurance and Control principles
• WHMIS and health and safety practices and procedures
• Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, etc)
• Communicate successfully under pressure
• Communicate with others to pass on work instructions
• Identify and diagnose, and resolve quality-related problems when they arise
• Be organized and have the ability to multi-task

• Ability to manage diverse daily challenges and make effective decisions under pressure.
• Must be capable of handling conflict, resolving issues, and interacting professionally with personnel at all levels.

Working Conditions

• Regular movement between office areas, shop floors, yard environments, and uneven outdoor surfaces.
• Exposure to industrial noise, heat, dust, and equipment activity.
