Burd & Fletcher is a family-owned manufacturer of paperboard products, including folding cartons and formed paperboard cups with over 130 years of industry experience. We are currently seeking Machine Operators to join our production team on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. Flexibility to work off-shifts as needed is required.

This is a full-time, union position scheduled for a 40-hour work week, with mandatory overtime as needed.

Job Summary

Machine Operators are responsible for operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment used in paperboard production. Operators are expected to understand how their machines function, identify quality or mechanical issues, and perform basic troubleshooting such as clearing jams or stalls. Employees will be trained to operate multiple machines and learn various manufacturing processes.

Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred but not required. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Job Responsibilities

• Understand and apply basic mechanical processes and equipment functions
• Operate and maintain production machinery and tools
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
• Identify and report quality concerns
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and well maintained
• Accurately document production data using tally sheets and basic computer entries
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members

Physical Requirements

• Regularly sit, stand, walk, climb, squat, kneel, push, and pull
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (with assistance when required)
• Must have sufficient strength, stamina, and dexterity to perform job duties

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Pass a drug screen and background check
• Strong mechanical and analytical skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
