Maintenance Technician

Reports to: CEO and CFO for quotes and financial issues

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITES:

Responsible for performing multiple repair and maintenance tasks throughout one's shift at LVCC child care centers located throughout the Lehigh Valley, which could include, but is not limited to: carpentry work; electrical; plumbing; painting; general center repairs; scheduling contractors and vendors and approving the finished job; purchasing needed supplies and equipment.

• Electrical repairs and maintenance: lightbulbs, wiring, circuit breakers, fuses
• Carpentry and general construction: woodwork, sanding, painting, etc.
• General plumbing: toilets; faucets; fix leads, etc.
• Child Care Center and office repairs: doors, doorknobs, broken tiles, hinges, etc.
• Equipment: assembly, hang securely, repair broken toys, etc.
• Outdoors: repair and replace playground equipment, repair shed, assist as necessary with landscaping and snow removal
• Service at LVCC early education and child care center locations
• Primarily at 4 Allentown and 3 Bethlehem locations
• Others on an occasional basis mostly for equipment assembly and repairs, lightbulbs and hanging equipment

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in getting quotes for various improvements and repairs
• Ability to go to one Allentown center on rare occasion after hours for emergency call.
• Manuel dexterity, overall coordination and good balance are required
• Ability to walk, stand and move rapidly for the work shift. Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn, climb stairs and ladders. Ability to perform repetitious arm and wrist movements.
• Mental alertness to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities
• On occasion able to work overtime and a couple of weekend days
• Ability to learn new tasks, procedures and regulations governing early education and child care centers
• Ability to move furniture and equipment
• Valid PA driver's license
• Criminal History background check required; state police check required; FBI fingerprint clearance required
• Ability to use LVCC vehicles, as available
• Pre-employment and random drug screen required
• Maintains appropriate physical & TB testing requirements.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to stand and stand for long period of time.
• Able to bend down.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $21.00 per hour
