What We're Searching for is a Qualified Shipper/Checker to assist coordinating the day-to-day activities in the shipping and receiving offices, including providing customer service to the truck drivers. Strong organizational, teamwork, and self-starter skills will lead you to success in this role.

How You Will Contribute: 


• Coordinates daily shipping schedule with customer service, purchasing, and production personnel. Notifies appropriate personnel if outgoing shipments will be delayed.  


• Prepare work orders for and coordinate repairs of trucks, trailers, forklifts, dock plates, and dock doors. 


• Uses appropriate document to perform a blind count during the shipping/receiving process recording all appropriate information such as quantities, item numbers, lot, batch or date codes etc.


• Ensure all incoming materials are unloaded, received and stored in a safe, accurate and efficient manner 


• Identifies errors in quantity, location, or part number, and works to correct both in the warehouse and within the system 


• Ensures all outbound materials and finished goods are unloaded, secured and shipped in a safe, accurate and efficient manner 


• Ensures orders meet requirements for shipping accuracy and guidelines for customer satisfaction. 


• Customizes skids for customer specific needs.  


• Inspects the condition of the carrier's equipment and freight contained within for damage, which has occurred during shipment 


• Tracks shipments from various carriers, via telephone and internet, to obtain information as needed.  


• Processes shipping paperwork, including but not limited to, bills of lading, customs paperwork, and parcel airway bills using various carrier websites.  


• Moves materials to/from the proper location updating the inventory systems as this is done 


• Performs other job duties as assigned.  

What it Takes: 


• High school diploma or G.E.D.  


• 2 years shipping/forklift experience  


• Read and write complex instructions, correspondence, and memos.  


• Strong communications skills, both verbal and written; must possess ability to communicate appropriately and professionally with internal customers and external vendors. 


• Able to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.  


• Ability to operate a forklift 


• Capable of maintaining good attendance.  


• Ability to lift 50lbs, walking, standing, stooping, pushing and/or pulling, kneeling, reaching, and climbing
