We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly detail-oriented Day Rehabilitation Program Director who is passionate about improving lives and strengthening community mental health.


What You'll Do

As the Program Director, you will lead the operational, clinical, and compliance activities of the Day Rehabilitation Program. You will oversee therapeutic programming, supervise clinical staff, ensure documentation quality, and maintain regulatory excellence while fostering a supportive, recovery-based environment for consumers.

Key Responsibilities Program Administration & Oversight
  • Design, implement, and manage therapeutic programming with a strong focus on group therapy and evidence-based practices.

  • Provide daily leadership and operational oversight of the Day Rehabilitation Program.

  • Ensure compliance with DBH, DHCF, CARF, Medicaid, and all regulatory requirements.

  • Develop workflows, SOPs, policies, and procedures that support efficient and compliant service delivery.

  • Review consumer schedules, group activities, and service delivery to ensure alignment with treatment goals.

Clinical Oversight
  • Supervise clinical staff and ensure licensure, credentials, and required trainings remain current and compliant.

  • Ensure DL20 assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and service documentation are completed accurately and timely.

  • Oversee coordination of care with MHRS, ACT, SUD, and external provider partners.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical case reviews.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with internal departments, community partners, and external stakeholders to strengthen service delivery.

Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Monitor compliance with DBH and DHCF billing, authorization, and Comagine requirements.

  • Ensure documentation meets medical necessity standards and supports accurate billing.

  • Review internal audits and implement corrective action plans.

  • Ensure all consumer records adhere to HIPAA, confidentiality, and privacy standards.

Staff Supervision & Development
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate program staff.

  • Coordinate staff schedules, workflow assignments, and coverage.

  • Identify training needs and ensure staff complete mandatory training (HIPAA, FWA, Incident Management, DL20, LMS, etc.).

Program Development
  • Lead the implementation, growth, and continuous improvement of the Day Rehabilitation Program.

  • Monitor program performance indicators and outcomes.

  • Develop new therapeutic groups, activities, and recovery-based interventions.

  • Promote culturally competent, trauma-informed service delivery.

Consumer Relations & Engagement
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for all consumers.

  • Address consumer concerns, complaints, and grievances in accordance with agency policy.

  • Promote strong participation and retention in the program.

Administrative, Billing & Reporting
  • Complete program reports, tracking logs, and regulatory submissions.

  • Ensure accurate encounter documentation and billing processes.

  • Assist during audits, site visits, certification, and re-certification efforts.

  • Oversee billing processes for all rendered services.

Budget Management
  • Develop and manage the program budget to ensure resource efficiency and financial sustainability.


What You'll Bring Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field (Doctorate preferred).

  • Proven leadership experience in a mental health, behavioral health, or treatment program setting.

  • Strong understanding of group therapy interventions and mental health diagnoses.

  • Knowledge of DBH, DHCF, CARF, Medicaid, and behavioral health best practices.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to supervise diverse teams and build meaningful relationships with clients and families.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to continuous improvement.
