K-8 Substitute Teacher

We are seeking dedicated and passionate substitute teachers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a positive learning environment and educating students in grades K-8 using the teacher prepared lesson plans. This role requires a commitment to student success and the ability to engage learners at different levels of understanding.

Duties

• Arrive on time, prepared to lead the assigned class.
• Review lesson plans left by the regular teacher and follow them faithfully.
• Maintain a Christ-centered environment that reflects the school's values of respect, kindness, and integrity.
• Begin and end the day with prayer or devotion, as appropriate to the school's practice.
• Teach lessons as outlined in the teacher's plans, adapting when necessary while keeping learning objectives intact.
• Provide clear directions and explanations to students across grade levels (K–8).
• Engage students with age-appropriate strategies—hands-on activities for younger grades, guided discussion for older grades.
• Encourage student participation and foster a love of learning rooted in biblical truth.
• Monitor students during transitions, recess, lunch, and dismissal as assigned.
• Ensure safety and order in hallways, playgrounds, and common areas.
• Model Christ-like behavior in all interactions.
• Dress modestly and appropriately, in line with school standards.
• Respect confidentiality regarding student information.
• Demonstrate flexibility, patience, and a servant's heart in all duties.
• Uphold the mission of the school by integrating faith and learning.

Requirements

• A minimum 60 hours of college credit is required.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly and effectively.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational best practices.
• Pass a background check

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
