Akkodis is seeking a
Lead Mainframe Developer
for a
Contract
with a client in
Indianapolis, IN / Plano, TX / Boston, MA / Portsmouth, NH/ Seattle, WA.
The ideal candidate will design, code, and maintain mainframe applications while ensuring high-quality standards through testing and peer reviews.

Rate Range:
$37/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Lead Mainframe Developer Job Responsibilities Include

  • Design, code, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, IMS DB, DB2, JCL, and MQ Series.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to ensure thorough testing and quality assurance of applications.
  • Conduct peer reviews of code and technical documentation to maintain coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues, coordinating with support teams for hardware and software fixes.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to address application failures and ensure business continuity.
  • Assist in research and issue resolution for business data processing, while contributing to architectural improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in mainframe application development.
  • Strong proficiency in IBM mainframes, COBOL, IMS DB, DB2, JCL, MQ Series, and Xpeditor.
  • Ability to design, code, test, and maintain applications while collaborating with QA teams and performing peer code reviews.

Pay Details:
$37.00 to $49.00 per hour
