Occupational Therapist Program Director

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to develop tailored treatment plans.
• Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, discharge strategies, and post-acute care services.
• Provide therapy interventions in diverse environments including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, schools, home health settings, skilled nursing facilities, and early intervention programs.
• Work with individuals with disabilities and special needs such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), geriatrics, pediatrics, and those recovering from injury or illness.
• Utilize knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to inform effective treatment strategies.
• Engage in case management activities to monitor progress and adjust care plans accordingly while maintaining detailed documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid license or certification to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Experience working in acute care settings such as ICU or inpatient units is highly desirable.
• Proven skills in discharge planning, case management, and developing comprehensive care plans.
• Familiarity with working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with autism or disabilities, and those in skilled nursing or post-acute environments.
• Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and speech therapy fundamentals relevant to occupational therapy.
• Prior experience in outpatient clinics, home health services, school-based programs or early intervention is a plus.
