Job Overview
(Hourly Rate Negotiable) We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Occupational Therapist Program Director to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement personalized therapy programs to enhance patients' functional independence across a variety of settings. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to develop tailored treatment plans.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, discharge strategies, and post-acute care services.
- Provide therapy interventions in diverse environments including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, schools, home health settings, skilled nursing facilities, and early intervention programs.
- Work with individuals with disabilities and special needs such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), geriatrics, pediatrics, and those recovering from injury or illness.
- Utilize knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to inform effective treatment strategies.
- Engage in case management activities to monitor progress and adjust care plans accordingly while maintaining detailed documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid license or certification to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Experience working in acute care settings such as ICU or inpatient units is highly desirable.
- Proven skills in discharge planning, case management, and developing comprehensive care plans.
- Familiarity with working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with autism or disabilities, and those in skilled nursing or post-acute environments.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and speech therapy fundamentals relevant to occupational therapy.
- Prior experience in outpatient clinics, home health services, school-based programs or early intervention is a plus.
