Mandatory Requirement:
Hands-on industrial maintenance experience in one or more of:

- Mechanical systems
- Hydraulic & pneumatic systems
- Robotics and conveyors
- Machining, welding, fabrication
- Experience with CMMS systems (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking and documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, maintenance management, or related technical field OR equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
- 3–5+ years of maintenance experience in plastics or similar heavy manufacturing (8+ years preferred).
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both written and verbally in English.
Role OverviewThe Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising and supporting the daily performance of Maintenance Technicians on the assigned shift to ensure operational reliability, safety, and productivity. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring broad industrial maintenance experience, particularly within plastic manufacturing environments.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems, with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise, motivate, and support Maintenance Technicians to meet shift, department, and company objectives.
- Conduct daily shift start-up (Toolbox) meetings covering work assignments, safety topics, and special instructions.
- Assign and schedule preventive maintenance (PMs), backlog tasks, and project work based on equipment availability and production needs.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, skill development, and disciplinary actions as required.
- Coach technicians to close skill gaps and improve overall team capability.
- Oversee and participate in corrective and preventive maintenance of production and support equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, PLC, robotic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systems.
- Perform hands-on maintenance including dismantling, repairing, replacing, and installing machine components.
- Interpret blueprints, ladder logic, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
- Diagnose equipment failures using test instruments and technical knowledge to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all maintenance work is accurately documented in the CMMS by end of shift.
- Train technicians on CMMS usage and maintenance documentation standards.
- Inspect breakdown calls, estimate repair times, prioritize work, and allocate labor effectively.
- Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, scrap, labor hours, and job cycle times.
- Conduct facility walk-throughs to monitor equipment condition and workflow.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments on equipment performance and process improvements.
- Serve as a liaison with equipment vendors and service providers.
- Initiate RFQs and requisitions for parts, upgrades, retrofits, and improvements.
- Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Train, test, and document employee understanding of safety and operational procedures.
- Promote and model company core values: Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service.
- Ensure compliance with department KPIs, quality standards, and company policies.
- Assist with preparation and management of the plant maintenance budget.
- Monitor maintenance expenditures and follow up on outstanding issues.
- Work overtime or flexible schedules as required to meet business needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3–5 years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on maintenance experience in one or more of the following:
Plastic injection molding
- Plastic sheet extrusion
- Inline thermoforming
- EPP/EPS shape molding
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of CMMS systems.
- Ability to operate or learn forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts safely.
- 8+ years of experience in maintenance supervision or a similar role.
- Strong planning, leadership, and team-building skills.
Experience with the following equipment:
Haitian (2 & 3 platen) or JSW injection molding machines
- Star robots
- Lyle inline thermoforming systems
- Davis-Standard sheet extrusion lines
- Akkaya EPP/EPS shape molding machines
- Universal Dynamics (Una-Dyn) or Novatec material handling systems
- Advanced computer and reporting skills.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive problem-solving approach.
