Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and highly organized Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of a busy diesel repair shop. This pivotal role involves managing administrative functions, supervising staff, coordinating vendor relationships, and ensuring smooth office workflows. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a passion for maintaining an efficient work environment. Your leadership will help foster a productive team atmosphere while supporting the shop's operational success.

Duties

  • Oversee daily office operations, including front desk management, multi-line phone systems, and calendar scheduling for appointments and service deadlines
  • Supervise administrative staff, providing training and development opportunities to enhance team performance
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and coordinate procurement of supplies and equipment
  • Handle bookkeeping and accounting tasks using QuickBooks, including invoicing, payroll processing, and expense tracking
  • Maintain accurate filing systems, records management, and documentation for compliance purposes
  • Coordinate human resources functions such as employee onboarding, time tracking, and benefits administration
  • Support budgeting efforts by monitoring expenses and preparing financial reports to ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Organize company events or team-building activities to promote a positive workplace culture

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in office management or administrative roles within a service-oriented environment; experience in diesel repair shops or automotive industries is a plus
  • Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks for bookkeeping, payroll, and financial management tasks
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of vendor management, budgeting, filing systems, and clerical procedures
  • Experience in human resources functions such as training & development, employee records management, and HR compliance
  • Familiarity with office technology including multi-line phones, calendar management tools, and basic office equipment
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: $ $28.00 per hour
