THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION TO RUN FROM

POSITION DUTIES:

Under the direction of the VP of day services and the Associate Director of Job development, the Program Coordinator will oversee the daily operations of a training and internship program called Together We Work. Together We Work is a grant funded program for 3 years

The Together We Work Pilot Program is an innovative initiative designed to develop peer support specialists and future direct support professionals from individuals diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in New York State. The program provides structured training, hands-on internship opportunities, and workforce readiness support to prepare participants for meaningful employment within the IDD sector. Through skill-building and practical experience, the program aims to expand the direct support workforce while empowering individuals with IDD to pursue sustainable career pathways. This role ensures all program components, partnerships, and workflows run smoothly while maintaining full compliance with grant requirements and regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Operations & Coordination:

  • Coordinate all program activities to ensure efficient and effective daily operations
  • Partner with the Training Department to plan, develop, and refine curriculum and customized course materials
  • Develop program tools such as application forms, assessments, and tracking instruments
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all grant guidelines, reporting expectations and audit requirements
  • Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as agency HIPAA and compliance policies

Outreach & Recruitment

  • Conduct outreach to provider agencies, care managers, community partners, and other stakeholders to identify and recruit eligible participants
  • Represent and promote the program at meetings, community events, and professional networks

Internship & Employment Coordination

  • Collaborate with CP Unlimited and other provider agencies to develop internship opportunities for program graduates
  • Service as a liaison with the Vocational Department to enroll individuals into supported employment programs upon completion
  • Support participants' transition into the direct support workforce by coordinating interviews, job matches, and follow-up

Supervision & Team Support

  • Supervise Vocational Specialists and ensure the quality and consistency of participants support services
  • Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to staff
  • All other related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in health and human services or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a vocational or employment program within the I/DD field
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to travel throughout the five boroughs of New York City
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace and digital documentation systems
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
