We are seeking an experienced and dependable Local Truck Driver to operate company trucks on local routes primarily within New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of goods while maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service. This role requires extensive local driving, knowledge of the tri-state area, and excellent driving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Local Deliveries & Pickups: Safely drive company trucks to deliver goods to clients, warehouses, and other destinations within New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
- Route Planning & Navigation: Plan efficient and safe routes for daily deliveries and pickups, utilizing GPS systems and knowledge of local traffic patterns to avoid delays.
- Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in good working order. Report any mechanical issues or damage immediately and ensure the truck is clean and well-maintained.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all local traffic laws, industry regulations, and safety protocols. Maintain a clean driving record and comply with company standards.
- Delivery Accuracy & Timeliness: Ensure that deliveries and pickups are completed on time and that all goods are securely loaded, transported, and unloaded. Verify deliveries and signatures, maintaining accurate records of shipments.
- Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service by interacting with clients or warehouse staff in a professional and courteous manner. Address any delivery-related issues promptly and professionally.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed logs of daily trips, including mileage, fuel usage, delivery times, and any incidents or issues. Complete all necessary paperwork related to deliveries, including shipping documents and receipts.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A)
- Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with tractor-trailers
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles
- Strong delivery driver experience
- Knowledge of route driving and freight handling
- TWIC card preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $280.00 per day
