Personal Care Assistant/PSS

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant/Personal Support Specialist to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those in group homes, assisted living facilities, or receiving home health care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and seniors.

Duties
As a Personal Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Providing medication administration and monitoring to ensure compliance with prescribed regimens.
• Supporting individuals with mobility and physical tasks to enhance their independence.
• Engaging clients in social activities and providing companionship to promote emotional well-being.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
• Documenting patient care activities and reporting any changes in client conditions to the appropriate personnel.
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans.

Experience
Preferred qualifications for the Personal Care Assistant position include:

• PSS Certificate or able to get PSS Certificate within 9 months and start the class within 2 months of being hired.
• Background in social work or related fields is a plus.
• Prefer one (1) year experience in the care of clients.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Prefer a High School diploma or equivalent.
