About the Role

JPMS Distribution Center is looking for an experienced Transportation & Logistics Coordinator to play a vital role at our Wilmer, TX Distribution Center. The Transportation Coordinator supports the daily operations of transportation and logistics within the Distribution Center. This role ensures timely and accurate movement of goods, compliance with regulations, and excellent service to internal and external customers.

Core Responsibilities:

Transportation Coordination

  • Schedule and track deliveries to ensure on-time performance
  • Communicate with carriers, drivers, and internal teams to resolve delivery issues
  • Verify transportation invoices and assist with cost tracking
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments and delivery schedules
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies

Logistics Support

  • Assist with receiving and put-away processes for inbound shipments
  • Coordinate with purchasing and manufacturing teams on receipt schedules
  • Update ERP systems with shipment and inventory data
  • Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies
  • Support Operations as required

Customer Service

  • Provide timely updates to internal teams and external partners regarding shipment status
  • Address and resolve transportation-related inquiries promptly

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure proper handling of products
  • Support audits and compliance checks as needed

Requirements:

Required Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of transportation and logistics processes
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials transport requirements
  • Proficiency in ERP or inventory management systems
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions to improve logistics processes
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards in logistics and distribution
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to operate Turret Trucks, Standup Fork Trucks, Electric Pallet Jacks (EPJ), and Walkie Riders

Preferred Skills:

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
  • MS Dynamics 365
  • Experience in Transportation Management Systems (TMS)

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a coordinator role required

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting and Carrying: The ability to lift 30-50lbs regularly; occasionally up to 75lbs.
  • Standing, sitting and walking: Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods (8–10-hour shifts).
  • Reaching and Handling: Use of arms/hands for reaching shelves, labeling, or scanning.
  • Bending, Stooping, Kneeling, and Crouching: Frequent movement required for inventory tasks.
  • Climbing: May need to climb ladders or use step stools to access higher shelves.
  • Pushing and Pulling: Push or pull carts, pallet jacks or bins (up to 100+ pounds in some cases).
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to read labels, documents, and operate scanning equipment.
  • Hearing and Communication: Ability to hear forklift horns, alarms and verbal instructions.
  • Work Environment: May be exposed to extreme temperatures (hot/cold) loud noise, dust or chemicals.
  • Pace: The ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring quick, efficient physical movement and time management.
