*Overview*
Myna Women's Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team, specializing in services for adult women through the perinatal, postnatal, and later stages of life. The ideal candidate will provide expert therapeutic services tailored to our diverse patient population, including those requiring lactation support and care during significant transitions.
In this role, you will develop personalized care plans aimed at enhancing daily living skills and supporting recovery and independence through evidence-based interventions. You will assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), focusing on their unique needs during perinatal and postnatal periods, as well as addressing the challenges faced by women in later stages of life.
Candidates should have a strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, along with experience working with individuals of varying ages and disabilities. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on women's health by promoting functional independence and improving overall quality of life.
*Responsibilities:*
* Assess patients' functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans that align with their personal goals and medical needs, focusing on the unique challenges faced by women during the perinatal, postnatal, and later stages of life.
* Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility, ensuring support is provided in a compassionate and empowering manner.
* Implement therapeutic interventions particularly designed for women experiencing transitions related to motherhood and aging.
* Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with case management teams to ensure seamless transitions for patients returning to their homes or community settings.
* Work with individuals with disabilities or other special needs to enhance their motor skills, sensory processing, and adaptive techniques, considering the specific needs of adult women.
* Conduct patient evaluations in various environments, including inpatient units and skilled nursing facilities, with a focus on understanding the comprehensive health and wellness needs of women.
* Maintain accurate documentation of care plans, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with healthcare regulations, ensuring clarity and communication among the care team.
* Educate patients and families about therapy goals and strategies to support ongoing recovery at home or within the community, with particular emphasis on lactation support where applicable.
* Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to optimize patient care strategies, working closely with healthcare professionals focused on women's health.
* Stay current with advancements in occupational therapy practices related to women's health and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within Myna Women’s Health.
*Skills*
* Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and patient care principles, particularly related to women's health during the perinatal, postnatal, and later stages of life.
* Experience assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and discharge planning tailored to the unique needs of adult women and diverse populations.
* Proven ability to work with individuals, including those with disabilities or special needs, as well as experience in adults and geriatrics, with an emphasis on the specific developmental and health issues faced by women.
* Skilled in developing comprehensive care plans and case management strategies that focus on empowering women throughout significant life transitions.
* Excellent communication skills that facilitate effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration, essential for providing holistic care in a supportive manner.
* Ability to adapt interventions based on individual patient needs and treatment goals, ensuring personalized and responsive therapy approaches that resonate with the experiences of women.
* Compassionate approach with strong organizational skills to efficiently manage caseloads while maintaining a high standard of patient care and support.
*Education*
*Required:*
* Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
* Completion of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam to obtain the Occupational Therapist (OTR) credential.
*Preferred*
* Additional certifications or training in women’s health, lactation consulting, or related areas that enhance service delivery for women during perinatal, postnatal, and later life stages.
*Continuing Education:*
* Commitment to ongoing professional development through workshops, conferences, or additional training relevant to occupational therapy practice and advancements in women's health.

Pay: From $37.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
